Italia dei Valori has prepared 11 points as a proposed programme to be put before the citizens. In the next few days, anyone who wants to can comment on the points given below.
- Improvement of Law 30, guaranteeing earnings and retraining during periods of unemployment and making provision for tax concessions for temporary workers - For the youth, a minimum starting salary of 1000/1100 Euro. - Effective policing of safety in the workplace and strictness in the application of penalties
- Immediate and effective repatriation of illegal immigrants, with an obligation for those sentenced for crimes committed to serve out their sentences in their countries of origin - More Policemen on the beat and more video surveillance throughout the country - Harsher sentences for crimes committed against women and children
Re-introduction of the crime of financial fraud Elimination of conflicts of interest of any sort and at every level - Guaranteed sentences and speedier criminal and civil legal action (the possibility of application of sentence at the lower court level and suspension of the statute of limitations following commitment for trial)
Elimination of the Rai-Mediaset monopoly in accordance with European Union directives and the decisions handed down by the Constitutional Court and European Court of Justice Review of the allocation criteria, and effective control of the utilisation of public funding for the press Elimination of politics from RAI
National Health Service (ASL) and hospital appointments and posts assigned according to criteria relating to competence and professionalism, to be assessed by independent bodies Creation of medical centres of excellence throughout the Country Increased funding for medical research
A ban on persons sentenced by a court for crimes committed from standing for Parliament Choice of candidates to be given back to the electorate Reduction of the number of members of elected bodies (Parliamentarians and municipal, provincial and regional councillors)
Recognition of a system of rights and responsibilities applicable to non-traditional relationships Concessions for young couples purchasing their first home Widespread creation of nursery schools and crèches with the same working hours as normal workplaces, and the creation of a system of protection for working mothers
Integration of Universities/companies as regards research and innovation projects Propagation of the latest information technologies (Wi Max) and IT education to start at the primary school level Teaching of basic English to start from nursery school level
An obligation to implement consolidated management structure for general services in municipalities with less than 5000 inhabitants Reduction of at least 50% in the number of public shareholding companies belonging to the State or Public Bodies Abolition of Provincial Councils in the Metropolitan areas and the abolition of Mountain community councils
Development of renewable energy sources (financing of electric motor cars, solar panels and autonomous electricity generation units) Provision of incentives for the use of public transport Force non-compliant areas to adopt a waste disposal system based on differentiated waste collection, re-utilisation of recyclable materials and eco-friendly waste disposal
